UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Registration is now open for the Penn State College of Engineering’s annual industryXchange, which will take place May 24–25 at The Penn Stater Hotel and Conference Center. Industry members, Penn State faculty and students, and government agencies are invited to join and explore collaboration opportunities for research and student engagement.
This year’s industryXchange is focused on digital connectivity and will include keynote speakers, panels, breakouts and other sessions to engage participants. Attendees will have opportunities to learn about various advancements enabled by digital connections, such as autonomous vehicles, smart cities and additive manufacturing. The event's first day consists of a "boot camp" for attendees to learn about the power and potential of 5G and advanced technologies for digital connectivity.
“We are excited to host an in-person industryXchange focused on digital connectivity, exploring collaborations in research and building the talent pipeline with industry,” said Priya Baboo, senior director of corporate and industry engagement. “We look forward to understanding industry needs while creating awareness of Penn State’s expertise in interdisciplinary research.”
The second day of industryXchange will follow a conference format, with opening remarks from Justin Schwartz, Harold and Inge Marcus Dean in the College of Engineering, and Lora Weiss, senior vice president for research at Penn State.
“This event embodies the collaborative spirit that drives innovation at Penn State,” Schwartz said. “By providing an opportunity to connect with industry partners and government agencies, industryXchange demonstrates the college’s strengths in bringing people together from a broad range of disciplines to evolve research and its applications to make an impact with creative solutions to society’s challenges.”
