MALVERN, Pa. — Penn State Global and Penn State Great Valley will co-host the first-ever Penn State Global Careers Institute at the Great Valley campus in Malvern, Sept. 27 and 28. This event, intended for graduate students, is a professional development program designed to help the University's international and domestic students prepare for career success in the global marketplace.

Participation in the Institute is competitive and by application only. The deadline to apply for the institute is Sept. 9. Students may click here to apply.

Transportation and lodging will be provided for students who are attending from the University Park or Harrisburg campuses. Graduate students from all Penn State campuses are encouraged to apply.

Featured speakers will include prominent Penn State alumni from a wide range of business and industry around the world, such as:

  • Nana Yaw Essuman, vice president for data engineering, FanDuel, United States
  • Sindura Ganapathi, Office of the Principal scientific adviser, Government of India
  • Cansu Akkol, pricing principal at Google Cloud, Ireland
  • Wesley McClendon, executive director McClendon Research Group Inc. and distinguished visiting scholar, Victoria Graduate School of Business, Australia

“Our global alumni are a big source of pride for Penn State,” said Richard Spicer, assistant director of Global Outreach. “Having alumni who have walked-the-walk when it comes to global careers and then come back to Penn State and share their experience and wisdom is a great benefit for students.”

Students will have the opportunity to network with alumni and speakers throughout the weekend event.

All students invited to participate in the institute must complete online modules before attending the September conference. Students who fully participate in GCI will receive a CQ Micro-Credential: An Equity and Inclusion Masterclass; a Penn State branded padfolio; a digital business card; and the opportunity to make countless connections.
