UNIVERSITY PARK, Pa. — Remake Learning Days connects youth and families to innovative and fun new ways to learn and grow together with events that focus on STEAM (science, technology, engineering, art and math) exploration and career pathways across Pennsylvania, including programs hosted and sponsored by Penn State.

Remake Learning Days in Pennsylvania runs from May 2-22, and includes more than 1,000 events intended to encourage creativity, perseverance and curiosity among youth from pre-K through high school.

The annual festival invites a variety of organizations such as schools, libraries, nonprofits, businesses and other community centers to come together to provide youth and families with innovative learning experiences. With more than a dozen activities around the state that are hosted by Penn State, there are opportunities for students, families and educators to connect to the university.

“Remake Learning Days is a reminder of how learning can take place anywhere at any time and at any age. It is an opportunity for families to learn together and explore more in their local communities,” said Amanda Smith, director of K-12 engagement at Penn State. “There are over 1,000 events to explore in Pennsylvania and beyond. I am proud Penn State takes part in this wonderful learning festival.”

This year, Remake Learning Days is working with the Career Ready PA Coalition to support the Career Ready PA Backpack Challenge. This is an opportunity for K-12 students to get artifacts needed for their digital career readiness portfolio by attending Remake Learning Days events that support either the learning of 21st century skills or career awareness and then complete a reflection survey about their experience. These digital career readiness portfolios are a requirement at all public schools across the commonwealth to show that students are getting exposure to the skills and careers that they might need in the future.
